Jain

A to Z Challenge – travels round Leicester with my camera No 10.

For a long time I worked near this building. It’s the Jain Centre, the first consecrated Jain Temple in the western world. Situated in Oxford Street, the building was originally an old chapel but the front is now faced with marble reliefs carved in India.

I can add no more, except to say it’s rather beautiful.

For more information on Jainism and the Jain Centre see: http://www.jaincentreleicester.com

I shall be without access to a computer until Friday if you’d like to leave a comment please feel free and I’ll respond when I get back.

  2. Beautiful. I haven't heard or thought of Jainism in years. There's so much out there to learn.

    1. Thanks. I don't know a lot about Jainism, that's why I didn't feel competent to write anything more.

    1. Thanks for your comment. Had to go away for a couple of days and I don't have a smart phone/laptop etc. Thank goodness for scheduling.
